Workshop on relational peace in Uppsala

On May 7 and May 8, Malin Åkebo, Anna Jarstad and Johanna Söderström organized a Varieties of Peace workshop around the framework of Relational Peace. Over the two days 13 papers were discussed, with participants from all over the world. The specific papers focused on relational peace in various settings and at different levels of analysis. As noted by one of the authors: “challenging how we study peace and offering steps forward”. The event was held in Uppsala, where the participants had the opportunity to present and discuss each other’s work. While most of them were on site, some were also able to take part digitally. Jason Klocek joins Varieties of Peace team

Research Fellow at the University of Notre Dame’s Center for the Study of Religion and Society, Jason Klocek, has joined Varieties of Peace research program as a Junior Visiting Researcher as of this week. He will be working within the program in May and June this year. Klocek's research examines state counterinsurgency and repression; religious and political violence; and religious peacebuilding. Klocek’s most recent published work is forthcoming in the Journal of Conflict Resolution and the Oxford Encyclopedia of Politics and Religion.
